The United States Internal Revenue Service is offering $625,000 in prizes to anybody who might crack supposedly untraceable privacy coins such as Monero and be able to trace transactions on Bitcoin’s Lightning network.
The IRS will welcome applications in the form of working prototypes before Sept. 16 according to an official posting released last week. A down payment of $500,000 would be sent if approved.
In the next eight months, this grant will allow applicants to develop their project to a functioning state. Upon completion and federal acceptance of the pilot test, an additional $125,000 will be granted.
