The Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) consists of a group of up to 20,000 Mutant Apes. These are either produced by exposing the Bored Ape to the Mutant Serum or by minting the Mutant Ape during public sales.
Mutants are the last level of membership and represent the conclusion of the 1.0 road plan of BAYC. In the future, the goal of BAYC would be to provide usefulness and ‘member only advantages’ mostly to the boring Apes and later to the mutants.
BAYC’s Mutant Drop
BAYC took a snapshot of all Bored Apes yesterday around 4 pm ET. An hour later, 10,000 mutant serums were randomly aropped to Bored Ape holders. Holders could then generate mutants by just paying gas costs by exposing their Bored Apes into the serum.
The Mutant Serum vials are available at three levels: M1, M2, and Mega Mutant (M3). All characteristics of the original primate are maintained by mutants produced with M1 or M3 serum. However, when an ape is placed in the serum M3, nobody knows what will happen.
In addition, an ape may only consume a certain serum once. The serum is burned when utilized. This implies that an ape may lead to three distinct mutations after ingestion of M1, M2, or M3 vials. Furthermore, the original Bored Ape remains intact and is in no way damaged.
In the meanwhile, holders of BAYC were only permitted to utilize their Serum after selling publicly. There is currently no restriction to the application of serums other than its one-time-use-only functionality.
Bored Ape’s Growing Community
Bored Ape owners (including NBA star Stephen Curry as of yesterday) frequently use their ape as their Twitter profile image to indicate that they are members of the club. Curry purchased his $180,000 ape.
Bored Apes is the sixth successful crypto-collectible project ever. According to CryptoSlam statistics, the apes earned sales of $354 million. The lowest (non-mutant) Bored Ape pricing currently amounts to 25 ETH (80,000 dollars).
A fellow dog, NFT from the Bored Ape Kennel Club Collection was airdropped earlier this month. A Bored Ape package with its dog sold for $1 million on 10 August.
